Virtual State Legislative “Day in the District”
April 14, 2022, 10:00 – 11:00 am

Join us on April 14 as we continue our “Ask the Experts” webinar series with a Virtual State Legislative “Day in the District.” Don’t miss this opportunity to get briefed on key issues coming before the Legislature this year that could impact local water and wastewater agencies in significant ways. There are several important issues before the California Legislature, including proposed changes to local agency fee authority, water conservation legislation, climate change and sea level rise, microplastics, and CASA sponsored legislation on PFAS disclosures. Led by CASA’s Director of Legislative Advocacy and Public Affairs, Jessica Gauger, this workshop will run through messaging to use with your state representatives when advocating on behalf of the clean water community.

We will also provide a tool kit for agencies to use when making their own meetings with state representatives. Several of CASA’s key issues are up in committee at the end of this month, so we are asking agencies to share your message as well as CASA’s priorities for the year in a coordinated way between April 18-29. This workshop is intended to provide a high-level briefing to prepare CASA members for those meetings with their legislators and staff as well as cover our priorities for the year. Be sure to pre-register today to reserve a spot and receive updates on CASA priorities, explanations of bills, and to get all your questions of legislative interest answered!
