SB 682 Introduction
We’re excited to announce the introduction of the CASA-sponsored Senate Bill 682 (Allen) on February 21, 2025. The bill seeks to ban the use of non-essential PFAS, limiting its application to only critical areas. By limiting their use, Senate Bill 682 will prevent further pollution and reduce the financial strain on wastewater systems already burdened by PFAS contamination.

California continues to lead on environmental protection, and this bill is vital in safeguarding public health, protecting our water, and reducing long-term costs.

The CASA State Legislative Committee will meet on March 14 to review and take positions on bills of interest that have been introduced in the 2025 Legislative Session. If you would like to join the virtual meeting or for questions, please contact Spencer Saks at ssaks@casaweb.org.
