CASA’s Federal Advocacy program is exceptionally active and unique among state clean water associations. Working with our advocates at ENS Resources, CASA identifies federal issues that may affect the clean water community and tackles them head-on. We advocate before Congress and federal regulatory agencies on a wide variety of issues including water quality, recycled water, biosolids management, product stewardship and source control, constituents of emerging concern, and infrastructure funding just to name a few. CASA frequently weighs in on high-priority legislation and testifies before Congressional Committees, and we work closely with our national association counterparts on issues of mutual interest. Every year we also host our Washington D.C. Public Policy Forum, where CASA members have the opportunity to come back to the nation’s Capitol and hear directly from policy makers on important issues to the clean water community and allow CASA members to discuss their concerns with their elected officials and senior federal agency officials. Through our Federal Legislative Committee, the CASA Team works hard to engage CASA members in writing letters, attending meetings, and taking other actions to ensure a powerful and influential voice in Washington, D.C.
