Congratulations to Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District and Lystek
CASA congratulates Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District (FSSD) and Lystek International on receiving the 2026 Water Quality Improvement Award for Operational Design and Excellence from the Water Environment Federation. The award recognizes their innovative partnership on the Direct Digestate Dilution (D3) Project at Lystek’s Fairfield Organic Material Recovery Center, co-located at FSSD. The project has reduced nitrogen-rich filtrate returning to the District’s influent by more than 10%, while supporting nutrient recovery and beneficial reuse, and helping protect the Suisun Marsh and San Francisco Bay.
