Meet the CASA Board: Fauzia Rizvi, Director
Fauzia Rizvi joined Western Municipal Water District’s Board of Directors in December 2020 and represents Division 5, which includes the City of Corona, Home Gardens, El Cerrito, and a portion of Temescal Canyon. She has a strong background as a business owner and community advocate, with an expertise working as a professional in the field of water management and consulting. Director Rizvi serves on several joint committees and regional authorities on behalf of WMWD and is a long-time resident of the City of Corona.

What inspired you to join the CASA board?

What inspired me to join the CASA board was a chance to be a part of an organization that leads on critical issues affecting clean water sustainability, and the health of our communities. CASA brings together experts and leaders from across the state and I wanted to contribute my voice to that collaboration, making sure local perspective from our region is heard while also helping shape statewide solutions. The mission of protecting public health and the environment while planning for future generations is what truly motivated me to serve.

What are some of your passions or hobbies outside of your work?

I run a nonprofit organization (local food bank) which has been providing food and critical care resources to community organizations and churches in city of Corona for the last six years. This work is done on volunteer basis, and I absolutely am passionate about working to reduce hunger and poverty from our community.

What do you find most rewarding about serving on the CASA board?

What I find most rewarding about serving on the board is the opportunity to shape policies and initiatives that directly protect public health, the environment and the future of California’s water resources. It’s incredibly fulfilling to collaborate with leaders across the state who are passionate about advancing innovation, sustainability, and equity in sanitation. Being able to contribute to decisions that improve our communities today while safeguarding our resources for future generations is truly meaningful.
