House Committee Convenes Hearing about Public Infrastructure
This week, the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure held a hearing focused on the state of our nation’s public infrastructure. “The Cost of Doing Nothing: Why Investing in Our Nation’s Infrastructure Cannot Wait” featured national stakeholders that detailed needs including wastewater, water, roads, railroads and other public works. CASA submitted a formal statement on the priorities for California’s clean water agencies.
The formal statement included a $6 billion annual state revolving fund authorization, extension of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit terms and urging for separate funding programs to support disadvantaged communities.
The committee is expected to develop a formal infrastructure bill in the coming months. The bill may include some of CASA’s top priorities for the year.
